Helena Pires holds an Integrated Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Lisbon. Before her current role, she gained experience in Real-World Evidence and, later, in Science Communication at the European Medicines Agency.
Her research focuses on public health and epidemiology, particularly on cross-sectoral studies and randomised controlled trials involving humans and artificial intelligence, aiming to support healthcare professionals in communicating more effectively with vaccine-hesitant individuals.
She is currently a researcher in the cluster project “Synthetic Vaccine Hesitancy to Revolutionize Intervention Testing and Education in Vaccination Communication”, supervised by Prof. Windermann-Schmidt and Prof. Robert Böhm.
